Yoga Nidra also called yogic sleep, is a guided, restorative meditation that relaxes the body and places the mind in a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping. It is said by yogis that 45 minutes of Yoga Nidra is as restorative as three hours of sleep.
Here are some of the benefits of practicing Yoga Nidra.
Nidra encompasses the notion of welcoming and listening, this brings about a whole new way of being. We begin to feel a deep wellspring of authenticity; we learn to trust ourselves deeply and as we learn to be a good friend to ourselves, we become better at listening to others. Ultimately, we begin to ‘fall in love with ourselves again. This is a practice of healing, kindness and surrender. For me, the act of lying down to meditate feels so nourishing, so welcoming, so…easy? It might even feel a bit like cheating! But please don’t underestimate the power of this practice! - Through surrender we are born anew into our essential nature of wholeness.
Nidra sessions with Natalie incorporates the magic of binaural beats. We begin with gentle movement, gentle breath followed by intention setting and guided meditation.
*Please note that you will be laying flat in Shavasana for approximately 45 minutes.
